Facebook: www.facebook.com Link to all my videos: www.youtube.com Ingredients: 2 3/4 c. all purpose flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening 2 c. sugar 4 large eggs 3 tsp. vanilla 1 3/4 c. milk I have tried this with part butter and part shortening and didn't like it very much, it turned out very greasy, I believe because butter has a lower melting point. This recipe can be halved or doubled with the same results and also used to make cupcakes (bake for about 15-20 mins). You can also swap out the vanilla extract for other flavorings or add some orange or lemon zest. This recipe will make two tall 8" round layers, two shorter 8" square or 9" round layers, or one short 9x13 layer.

Coffee cake - recipe

Are you craving for a coffee cake? Sonia's recipe is an impressive dessert with a perfect balance of coffee and hazelnuts, that will amaze both you and your guests! Find this and many more recipes with pictures on the Giallozafferano App (in English) itunes.apple.com *** The coffee cake we'll be making is a pretty rich cake: it's not difficult, but it will take some time, so be patient and it will be totally worth it. The first thing to do is preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C), after that dice the butter and let it soften; once soft, place in the bowl of a stand mixer with ½ cup (100 g) of sugar and beat until you have a fluffy, frothy mixture. Now dissolve 1 tbsp (10 g) of instant coffee in a couple of tablespoons of hot water, and let it cool; separate the egg whites from the egg yolks and, after beating the butter and sugar mixture for about 10 minutes, add the egg yolks one at a time, beating constantly, as well as the coffee in a thin stream. The mixture is smooth, creamy and with no lumps, that's because all the ingredients were at room temperature, including the eggs. Now fold in the toasted hazelnut meal, which has a strong taste and aroma: if you want something milder you can replace it with almond flour. So, incorporate the hazelnut meal, then add the sifted cornstarch, all-purpose flour and baking powder. After adding all the flours, beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar until soft peaks form, you don't need stiff peaks otherwise it will go lumpy when ...

Find this and many more recipes on the Giallozafferano App in English itunes.apple.com *** Today I'll surprise you with a traditional American soft and light cake, made only with egg whites: the angel food cake. It's a true sweet cloud, very difficult to resist. But let's see together what ingredients we'll need: • 2 cups (480 g) of egg whites that is the whites of about (12 extra-large eggs) • 1 big pinch of salt • 1 ¼ cups (250 g) of sugar • ½ tbsp (5 g) of cream of tartar, a leavening agent • 1/8 tsp (1 sachet) of vanilla powder or 1 tsp of vanilla extract • 1 1/5 cups (150 g) of flour Let's make together the angel food cake: First of all, take the egg whites out of the fridge and keep at room temperature or, if you're short of time, bring them to 110°F (45°C) in a bain marie, stirring with a whisk, but without beating. Now it's time to beat the egg whites until stiff, so use a planetary mixer, or a common electric beater, and let it run. As soon as the egg whites turn white, add the cream of tartar, then the sugar and the vanilla, one third at a time. To get this result, beat the egg whites for 10-15 minutes at medium speed. Now add the sifted flour and the salt... stir gently to fold the ingredients. The angel food cake doesn't involve the use of fats, that's why in the USA there is a special angel cake pan ...

Heart cake - recipe

To celebrate Valentine's Day, delight your partner with this impressive heart layer cake... Find this and many more recipes on the Giallozafferano App in English itunes.apple.com *** For Valentine's Day I received a bunch of roses, and I want to reciprocate this romantic gift with my special recipe, the heart cake! First of all, combine the diced softened butter with the sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer with a whisk attachment and beat for at least 10 minutes until you have a very pale and foamy creamy mixture. Then, beating constantly, add one egg at a time, at room temperature, until you get this result. Now beat in the melted chocolate, after cooling a bit, until blended. Here's the resulting mixture. At this point, in a bowl, mix the flour, the cocoa powder, the baking powder and the salt, and sift them into the mixture... alternating with the milk. Pour the resulting dough into a heart-shaped cake pan, that has been buttered and floured; this one holds 5 cups (1,2 lt). Now bake the cake at 350°F (180°C), after about 45 minutes test for doneness with a toothpick and, if needed, bake for an additional 5-10 minutes. While the cake is baking, move on to the hazelnut cream, to fill our heart layer cake. First of all, beat the softened butter with the hazelnut paste, that, be careful, is not the hazelnut spread that can be eaten alone (with bread, for example): the hazelnut paste is an unsweetened paste, made from ground hazelnuts, that is used to make the hazelnut ...
